PROJECT GOAL:

A new waterfront home in Cape St Claire. This house has traditional lines and welcoming spaces. Lots of glass on the water side is balanced with soft light from other spaces to reduce glare and shadows. Rooms flow together and traffic meanders through the angled connector and around the grand foyer. The house was dubbed a “cottage” by the contractor who usually builds huge estate homes.

New house constructed over basement and partial footprint of old house. Nautical design and details.

House is now perfect for one-level living, preserving the upstairs for visiting children and grandchildren.
